In short
Your photos and memories stay on your device and in your private iCloud. We don't store anything on our own servers. The only time a photo leaves your device is when you request a caption or a story: the photos involved are then sent briefly to our AI service, without being kept or used to train a model.

No account, no sign-in
Pawmories never asks for an email, a password, or account creation. The app relies on the iCloud identity already present on your device. We therefore collect no personal sign-in identifier.
The data we process
The photos you add, along with the information you enter (your pets' names and traits, album names, captions, stories). This content is stored locally on your device and synced, if iCloud is enabled, to your private iCloud database — which we have no access to. We collect neither your location, nor your address book, nor your browsing data.
Where your data lives
Your data lives on your device (local storage) and, if you've enabled iCloud, in your private iCloud space provided by Apple. None of this data is copied or stored on a server we control.
The only data that leaves your device: captions (including for stories)
When you explicitly request a caption, or when you compose a story, the photos involved are, before any transfer: resized (to at most 512 px on their longest side) and stripped of their metadata, including GPS location. They then pass through our technical relay to a vision AI service, for the time needed to produce a caption — including, for album photos that don't have one yet, a caption generated behind the scenes to feed the story's text, without ever being shown to you as such. No photo is kept, logged, or used to train a model. No other action in the app sends your photos outside.
Subprocessors
Vision and text model provider (caption generation, including captions generated behind the scenes for stories, and story composition): Google (Gemini API). Processing may take place outside the European Union. Technical relay hosting: Cloudflare. Subscription management: Apple and RevenueCat, which receive an anonymous purchase identifier, with no personal data directly identifying you. These providers act only on our instructions and for the purposes described here.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the app is used and improve it, we measure strictly anonymous and aggregated usage statistics (for example: a memory was added, a caption was generated, a subscription was taken out). These measurements contain no personal data, no device or account identifier, no IP address, and no content from your memories (no photo, no caption, no name). They cannot identify you and are not used to track you across apps. These counters are hosted at Cloudflare (already our technical relay — no additional provider). You can turn this measurement off entirely at any time in Settings → "Usage statistics".
Legal basis and retention period
Processing of your content is based on performing the service you use. The occasional sending of photos to generate a caption or compose a story is based on your explicit action. Your data is kept for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete it at any time, in full, from Settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your data. In practice: you view and edit your content directly in the app, and the "Delete all my data" action in Settings immediately erases all of your companions, albums, photos, and stories, on the device as well as in your iCloud. Children
Pawmories is not intended for children and does not knowingly collect data about them.
Changes
This policy may evolve. Any significant change will be flagged to you in the app or via the App Store listing.
